This Scent was released in 2012 and is supposed to be a thriller/comedy (more on that later). It stars Park Hee Soon, Park Si Yeon, Joo Sang Wook, and Lee Kwang Soo. Here is the quick synopsis from the website Asian Wiki:
A detective who moonlights as a private investigator, has a beautiful new client Soo-Jin. The woman asks the detective to take photos of her husband in the midst of having an affair with another woman. When the detective goes to take pictures he discovers that the woman’s husband is already dead. Now the detective becomes a suspect. Police begin to chase him. He must now set out for the real killer.
Review
What the synopsis doesn’t say but probably should, is that there is sex. Not tons of it, but enough for me to scramble to find my headphones to keep the noises from attracting some unwanted attention from my children. (0_o)
That aside, The Scent was pretty good! I got a little carried away with trying to figure out who did it to the point where I was glad I wasn’t an actual police detective.
It’s a good thing I’m not a detective in RL. I’m throwing accusations left & right at this movie, lol #TheScent Everyone did it.

Park Si Yeon plays the wife in this and can I say, this woman deserves an award of some kind for this role? Sheesh!
Very manipulative, cunning and sexy (remember those sex scenes I spoke of). Park Hee Soon is the detective and, in my opinion, a freaking idiot who got so many chances & do-overs, I was hoping he would be convicted of the crime. -__-
This man could not keep himself on the straight and narrow and made me question what people considered “cheating” because his character and I had some HUGE disagreements on what is considered cheating or not.
You get the idea, right? Great because I’m not going to continue otherwise I can guarantee you’ll have the same facial expression I did when you hear his exiting line at the end of the movie.
Anyways Kwang Soo plays some type of savant in the movie and I don’t know how I feel about that. I’m glad he’s making movies but I have to wonder. Why does Lee Kwang Soo have to play a character that gets bullied by the lead actor?
Also, Joo Sang Wook from Ten & Ten 2 plays a supporting role as a detective who chases after Park Hee Soon’s character. I wish he had more screen time but I think that’s because I like seeing him, lol.
You can watch it on Good Drama. Let me know what you think, mmkay?
