2012 K-Drama Favorites

K-Dramas

How fast 2012 went in terms of kdramas. I thought I made a pretty good dent in all the dramas that aired…until I saw the list of ALL THE DRAMAS THAT AIRED IN 2012.

*sigh* Well I gave it the old college try. Anyway since we are in the final week of 2012, I thought it would be cool to quickly relive my favorite dramas of this year.

Favorite Comedy: Answer Me 1997

Hello Seo In Guk.  My goodness I miss those sheep noises. I still cannot believe I was going to pass up this gem because I wasn’t interested in reliving someone else’s high school years (yes, I was in high school in 97 -_-).  So glad that some of my fellow drama watchers talked me into watching it. To this day, I still sway back and forth shipping Shi Won/Yoon Jae and Joon Hee/Yoon Jae.

Favorite Historical Drama:  Gaksital

GAKSITAAAAALLLL!!!!!  Oh man, my heart still clenches at the thought of this drama. I admit I started watching it because I have a thing for Joo Won. Whatever my reason, it was the best/worst thing I could have done for myself because my goodness…. the scene where he finds his brother AND mother dead?

Yeah, you remember.  And his frenemy Shunji… mmmhmm.

Anyways, if you haven’t seen it yet, like action, ANGST, drama, ANGST and history, Check out Bridal Mask/Gaksital.
Favorite Crime Drama: Ghost
This didn’t get the praise it deserved, in my humble opinion. So Ji Sub and  was superb as a super computer hacker/police detective. My inner tech geek was able to spazz out over Hades (though I wish Daniel Choi was in it longer) and the fact that there wasn’t much romance was a refreshing change. The trailer doesn’t really show all of the dramas cyber excellence but check it out anyway.

Total Fluff Piece But Loved It Anyway: To The Beautiful You
Yeah yeah I know what you’re going to say. BUT I didn’t watch any other version but this one. Also I knew, with Minho, Sulli (and the rest of SME) this was going to be a fluff piece. Something to help me recover from all the melodramas I watched earlier. Plus: Kim Woo Bin and Lee Hyun Woo are in it.
Top Dramas Overall: My top dramas overall. People probably won’t agree with my choices (where’s Arang and the Magistrate? where’s I Miss You?) but these are the ones that I enjoyed and could probably watch again.
Gaksital: See Above
So that is my quick run through of my favs of 2012. Did yours show up? If not let me know what they were in the comments or on twitter. See you in 2013!
