As I read the tweets, I realized something, besides the fact that EVERYONE loves Kim Samsoon. Boys Over Flowers didn’t mean as much to me as it once did (gasp!) I was introduced into kdramas the same way 89% of my timeline was: Through BoF on Hulu. Late one night in July 2011 my life was forever changed when that show started on my laptop. I stayed awake until I finished it, crying laughing and screaming my way through it, much to the alarm of my husband and children.
I followed the F4 through their dramas (Playful Kiss for KHJ & City Hunter for Lee Min Ho). It was the end/beginning of an era for me. Haven’t looked back since and I’ve enjoyed the ride. But… now that I know better, now that I’m a seasoned kdrama watcher, I feel that it is time to take it off my top 5 list. Why? Because there are other dramas that could easily fill its spot. I’d forgotten how much I loved Brain & Bad Guy had sent me on such a spiral of depression that it took me weeks to recover and I STILL can’t listen to the soundtrack without feeling angst. AND of course we all know how I felt when I saw SeNa in Rooftop Prince.

So what does this all mean? It means that while Boys over Flowers will have a special place in my heart, much like a kdrama’s first love, it is time for me to move on and look to the future…

…either that or start doing a top 10 drama list

….and gosh darn it but doesn’t this m/v bring up ALL THE FEELS???
