My word! I cannot believe I almost missed this drama! Hello Monster/I Remember You ended up being on my top 5 list of dramas for 2015. If you are into crime/thrillers like I am, then this is definitely for you. Here’s what Asian Wiki has to say about it:
Lee Hyun is an excellent criminal profiler, but he possesses a spiteful tongue. Cha Ji-An is an elite detective. She observes Lee Hyun. They work on solving cases and develop a romantic relationship.
Ok. That synopsis doesn’t do this drama justice, so here’s my version. Lee Hyun, who is a genius, has a crappy childhood. After meeting a psychopathic serial killer, he loses his father, brother and his memory. He grows up and becomes a criminal profiler who goes after the killer who took his family away.
While chasing the main criminal, he helps the police solve other violent crimes. There’s a love interest of course and in true kdrdama fashion, the relationship story line was maddeningly slow. *sigh*
The female lead in this drama tripped me out. Her speech pattern was so madeningly adorable that I started copying it. Also can I please take a moment to applaud the writers for FINALLY getting it right when it comes to female cops. I watch a lot of crime dramas and let me tell you, it annoys me to NO END when I see the women running around in stilettos, and getting hurt when someone breathes on them wrong.
This actress wore sneakers 90% of the time and even though she looked like she’d fly away in a strong breeze, SHE. HELD. HER. OWN. Fight scenes, getting bruised and cut…she did it all.
I will try not to spoil everything because I want people to actually watch this drama, but yo. Can we please talk about all the psychos in the drama?
I have not felt this fabulous about a drama in some time. EVERYONE is a freaking psychopath. #hellomonster

I didn’t know D.O was in this drama but can I say he did a SUPERB job. I don’t his personality (obviously) but he played crazy VERY well. *hand clap* Perhaps he’ll be in another drama?
I promised no spoilers so I won’t say too much about Lawyer Jung but, keep your eyes on him. Which shouldn’t be too hard because the man is beautiful. *sigh* I don’t know what that says about me. Enjoying a psychopath like he’s a runway model.
Lee Joon Ho has grown up into a nice looking gentleman that’s still a psycho. I got so conflicted with the feels of enjoying this drama. I love crime and the ones depicted in this drama were so…dark. Complicated and my goodness, a lot of them ended up being part of the “bigger picture”.
I don’t like how the show ended. I will be honest about that. A lot of dramas start out so good and end up fizzling out by the end and unfortunately, I feel like that’s how this drama went. Maybe they’re going to do a season 2? I don’t think the drama did well, ratings wise, so I’m not sure how that goes.
If you have some spare time, give this drama a try. I guarantee you won’t regret it.
