I’ve discovered something glorious. Korean drama specials. Why haven’t I heard of these before. I feel like I’ve been cheated! I have said several times when reviewing Korean movies…they are FREAKING long! Yes they are shorter than traditional dramas but still…freaking long.
Enter drama specials!
I discovered them last week when floating on My Drama List. I complained that I couldn’t find what I was looking for and before giving up, I typed in the alternate name of the drama (which I thought was the movie) and bam! There was on KBS’s Youtube channel.

Here is the blurb on the Korean drama special Monster from MyDramaList.

A murder of a woman in her 20s in the middle of Seoul. Tae Seok who is a student of a prestigious university accidentally kills Mi Na who’s a gold digger. Tae Seok’s father is about to run for councilman election and asks Lawyer Kim Hyeon Su to take care of the murder. Hyeon Su tells Tae Seok to turn himself in and claims he’ll be found innocent. The prosecutor in charge of this case, Chae Jin Wook, was a fellow trainee with Hyeon Su. He’s very determined to put Tae Seok in jail.

The drama starts of very quickly. We see Tae Seok driving with blood all over his face. He’s driving very strangely, weaving back and forth across the road. He finally stops, calls his father and tells himĀ  he thinks he’s killed someone. Dad springs into action and calls a lawyer that he has in his pocket.

This lawyer is really freaking crazy. Or maybe he’s money hungry. Or both. Hyeon Su goes through great lengths to prove that Tae Seok is innocent by reason of insanity.

I will try not to spoil things because then who would want to watch it, but I will say this. By the end of the program, you won’t be sure who the Monster is.

I truly enjoyed this show and if you are into crime and/or law dramas, you’ll probably enjoy it too. Check out the show by clicking the link and let me know what you think!
