What. The. Hell. This movie…. I mean it was alright but I wouldn’t say it was great. At least to me. It was just ok. One of those movies where you can turn it on and do laundry or something and not really miss much. Here’s the rundown from Asianwiki:
Tae-Hoon , set to enlist in an elite military group, learns that his sister Kang Bo-Ra has been abducted and will appear live on an underground internet porn site. Tae-Hoon puts aside his military obligations and sets out to find his sister. With only a 48 hour window and little clues to go on, Tae-Hoon finds himself going up against the mob, cops & a military team looking for their awol soldier. All that Tae-Hoon has is Se-Yeon, a friend of his missing sister.
I wanted to like it because the actor that played Tae-Hoon, Jung Suk-won, was one of the Joeson Power Rangers from Rooftop Prince. But…ugh.
The movie starts off with Tae-Hoon & Bo-ra laying their grandmother to rest. Bo-ra mentions that the whole family is now gone with the exception of her and her brother. Cut to 6 months later and big bro is now training with the Army headed to Afghanistan. Sis and friend are working out at the gym while, some sleazy looking man is watching their…rear ends.
They head off & the next thing you know they are in a car when this big beefy looking man is telling them to give him their cellphones. And they do it.
I don’t understand it. I know their spider senses were tingling. But they listen to this man anyway. They don’t know who he is, or where their going, but they follow everything that this man says to do.
The friend tries to run away (finally) but naturally it is far too late for that.
Enter Tae-hoon. The sister’s other friends come get him and let him know she’s on a porn site & Tae-hoon needs to save her. He only has 48 hours to do so. He’s doing alright with the help of her friends but naturally the Army finds out he’s missing (though he asked them to leave so I don’t know why they were freaking out about it) so he’s on the run from them.
The one girl friend of Bo-ra stays to the end helping Tae-hoon and I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I rolled my eyes at her running around in her stiletto boots.
also….this movie AGAIN shows why you should wear flats. #TheBeast

But we won’t go into that because you know how I feel about the subject. Finally after fighting everyone from nasty porn guys, to police, Tae-hoon meets big boss man. And gets his ass handed to him. Seriously. I get that he’s been fighting all day and hasn’t really had time to rest and recharge but…damn. Thankfully movie magic happened and the hero of the movie perseveres and wins the final battle and rescues the girl. Now at this point, the movie could have been over but no. The PD-nims or director-nims decided now would be the perfect time to throw in some romance.
Okay it wasn’t that bad…but they try to throw in some romance which was ridiculous. Can’t it just be an action movie? #TheBeast — Sara 사라 (@Young_Ajummah) November 28, 2014
@NewKDramaAddict I mean it was like the last 5 minutes. What in the world?

So all in all, the movie was just ehh ok for me. The action sequences were alright, and I guess its good to see that the hero can get beat up and still end up on top. I wouldn’t refer to him as a “Beast” though. Maybe it should have been called “The Realistic Man”. You can check out the movie on Hulu in the States if you want to see it. Let me know what you think of it when you do!

Fantastic review. I liked the “spider senses” part. Theirs must have been turned off. Maybe he told them he was scouting for a music video. XD
