Review:
Thought that ran through my mind while watching this movie: What in the world???
I have to thank my fellow kdrama watcher, Tayfan2 for suggesting this movie to me. She knows how much I love zombies and there is a zombie story in here…wait let me start at the beginning.
Doomsday Book came out in 2012 and is actually 3 mini movies in one. The three stories are “Brave New World” “Creation of Heaven” and “Happy Birthday”.
POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!!
Brave New World is a story about everyone in Seoul turning into zombies. Why? Because a man threw away a moldy apple. Somehow the apple is eaten by a cow and then someone eats the meat tainted with the bad apple…enter zombie mode. (What in the world thought number 1)
Creation of Heaven made me almost turn off the movie. I know, I know…but it was that weird to me. Basically it was about a robot who thought he was Buddha because he had found nirvana. (What in the world though numbers 2-15)
I…I really don’t understand the point of this film. Perhaps don’t rely on tech too much? I guess that means I haven’t reached nirvana yet 🙁 Anyway its a different type of sci-fi.
Happy Birthday was my favorite story in the whole movie. A little girl breaks her fathers eight ball and goes on this weird site to buy him a new one for 10 cents. Now how in the world did this girl think it was a legit site is beyond me but whatever…just a movie ajummah. Anyway some time passes and all of a sudden, this HUGE eight ball comes crashing to Earth.
Yoon Se-ah from A Gentleman’s Dignity is in this one, so it was nice to see a familiar face. Also Bae Doo-Na has a cameo.
So all in all… its an interesting movie. Would I watch it again??? Umm no. But it’s an interesting movie. Check it out for yourself and let me know.

I've yet to watch this but thanks for the warning about the zombies. Had I watched this at night, it would have scared the crap of me. I've still haven't made it past ep 2 of The Walking Dead!
LOL It was the kind of movie that you MUST share to put into someone else's head. These vignettes were "disturbing …. interesting …. WTH …." but NOT boring.
