Review:

So many movies, so little time to review, lol.  I am going to do my best though. So here we go!

I was anticipating The Terror Live for a while. Scouring the internets and bugging my friends on twitter where were they watching it. Finally, gooddrama.net was kind enough to add it to their collection and I was ready with my popcorn.

First, here’s what asianwiki says about the movie:

Yoon Young-Hwa (Ha Jung-Woo) is a former popular TV anchorman, but due to an unsavory incident now works as a radio show host. One morning, a listener calls in to his radio program and declares that “I will blow up the Mapodaegyo Bridge.” At first, the call is taken as a joke, but soon Yoon Young-Hwa realizes it is very real. The Mapodaegyo Bridge, which can be seen from the radio station office, suddenly explodes.
As the sudden terror happens in real time, Yoon Young-Hwa decides that this incident could be his ticket to work again as a TV anchorman. He decides to broadcast a live interview with the caller on TV, but first he makes a deal with news bureau chief Cha Dae-Eun (Lee Kyoung-Young). Meanwhile, the caller asks for more than 2.1 billion wons from the broadcasting station and also an apology from the South Korean President. The caller also informs Yoon Young-Hwa that he is wearing an explosive.

Review

The Terror Live starts off with Young-Hwa looking like a complete tool wearing shades while doing a radio show about tax laws.

Whatevs. Anyway, a caller is rambling on about something that isn’t the topic Young-Hwa is interested in and he hangs up. Or so he thinks. Somehow the person stays on the line is quite upset that Young-hwa tried to get rid of him. He tells him he has a bomb and he is going to set it off. Young-hwa says whatever dick head go on and do it. (his words not mine). Guess what? He does.

So now we begin.

Young-hwa instantly turns into a newscaster. Gone are the ridiculous shades and 5’o clock shadow. Dude is straight up dapper.

He’s on the phone with the madman, who demands 2 billion won, and is trying to get him to tell the world why he blew the bridge.  The man tells him and now wants the President to come to the station and apologize for an incident that happened. You know that ish isn’t going to happen.  They send the commissioner of police instead and this angers the bomber. Something (no spoilers) happens that had me going CRAZY!

Yo!!!! That got me! Okay, I’m invested now. #TheTerrorLive

Stuff gets really crazy and I don’t want to reveal too much more because of the whole spoilers thing but the bomber gets bomb happy and starts blowing ERRRRYTHING up. Buildings included.

Final Thoughts

There is no happy ending with The Terror Live, kids. *sigh* I understood the ending but I don’t agree with it. But yeah…I liked the movie. Had me jumping up and yelling several times.
