Greeting and salutations everyone! I recently attended the Richmond Hallyu Mini Expo in Richmond, VA. Special guests included Alan Z, Sal-V & Dio, GMNI, and Michael Smith Grant. This was the first time there has been a Hallyu-related event in Richmond (to my knowledge) so I was happy to have been able to go.

There were panels (I was on the drama one with other talented ladies), Q&A with the special guests, performances, and a talent show. After the event, there was an after party nearby that most people attended.

Unfortunately, there were some tech issues which prevented the guests to perform (I mean they did perform but it was REALLY hard to hear). Also, everything was late but with all the problems, people seem to really enjoy themselves. I know that the folks behind the scenes worked hard to create something out of nothing so I have to give props to that. The afterparty also had audio issues (no speakers) so that was a bit of a drag but everyone came together to have a great time so it ended well.

Where I Stayed

I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Downtown Richmond. I think this had to have been the swankiest place I’ve stayed in so far. In house cafe, valet parking, fitness center…I was definitely spoiled. The staff was great and if you have the money to pay for everything (valet parking was about $30) I suggest you try it out.
