Why Are Some Dramas So Dang Slap Happy?

HodgePodge K-Dramas

*This is an older post that I never put on here but everything still applies*

If you are a k-drama addict like me, you constantly scream at the screen when a “misunderstanding” happens. You know what I’m talking about right? It usually happens with the lead girl getting caught up in something that gets her slapped. I  saw this in Rooftop Prince (which hello, why haven’t you watched it yet). I always wonder, why do they let these misunderstandings slide for episodes on end, rather than just forcing the object of their desire to listen fully to their explanation. Seriously?!?! Don’t they understand how much drama they can save themselves if they just straighten things out? *Ugh*And who is going to just stand there and let themselves get slapped like that? I’ve seen dramas where the person get slapped so hard, stuff goes flying out their purses, wigs get knocked off their head… okay maybe not the wig part but you get what I mean. The woman who got slapped usually ends up holding their face, looking scared and sad.

Now the men that get slapped in dramas, I can understand to a point why they don’t retaliate. It’s because they don’t want to get thrown in jail, though they probably think about doing something like the picture below.

Still you would think they would at least grab the girl’s hand preventing her to slap him, right? Unless he thinks he deserves it, which is another type of article, just waiting to be written. I would love to see drama where someone goes to slap a girl and she opens up a can of whoop … *clears throat* well you get the idea. Alright I’m stepping down off of my soap box, but before I go, I have to ask again, would you really let yourself get slapped like that and just stand there?
